Keep personal details private at first
Do not share your home address, workplace, National ID or bank details with someone you have only just met here.
Never send money
No genuine match will ask you for money, a loan, a gift card, or help with a visa or medical bill. Treat any such request as fraud and report it.
Meet in public, and tell your family
When you are ready to meet, choose a busy public place in daylight and let a family member know where you are going and when you expect to be back.
Trust what you feel
If the story keeps changing, if the photos do not match, or if you are being pushed to move the conversation to another app straight away, step back and report the profile.
